Happy Day! 

The day these girls get to go home is approaching! We still don’t know the exact date but it is SOON!!! 

Trenna has crept up on Ellie and she is taking more feed by bottle than her now. She is doing so well that they were able to take out her feeding tube. Trenna is now just a little baby in a big crib, no wires or tubes necessary to keep this little girl going. She is on her own! She is weighing in at 3 lbs and 11 1/2 oz. The nurses have even placed Trenna on the maximum amount she can eat. They stopped Shannon this morning to laugh about how if they didn’t max her out, she would just keep on eating and eating. She keeps meeting her MLs goal.

Ellie is still doing really well, and yes she still has her feeding tube in. They had to place her on some prevacid because she kept getting an upset stomach. Feeding time has become much more enjoyable for her, and she is already showing to be taking much more feed from the bottle. Over the next few days with taking the med, we expect to see much more improvement! She is now weighing in at 6 lbs and 15oz, so close to 7 lbs!

Shannon has been getting lots of ‘going home’ education for the girls lately, and Ellie could still go home even with the tube still in if she continues to not take a full bottle. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

2 MONTHS OLD

These twin girls are two months old today and we couldn't be anymore excited to celebrate another month of milestones, another month of two lives that have just begun, another month to praise God that we have these little girls here, healthy, and growing. Two wonderful bundles of joy that continue to surprise. We are SOOOOO excited that Trenna now has her nasal cannula off AND she has been moved into a big crib just like her sis! It won't be much longer before these girls and new mommy can come home to Trevor and make their house whole again as a perfect new little family!

The cross below was given to them today by the Scott Family, 

(baby Kaydence's family who is also in the NICU, whom Trevor and Shannon have gotten to know)

It began with another family who also had a baby in the CCH NICU. This cross stays in the NICU and is now passed from family to family to show protection and bless the baby (babies) that holds onto it.

There is no doubt here that these girls are blessed and that God has protected them through everything. The cross is the greatest sign of God's merciful love and that he is always watching over us.

 38 Weeks Adjusted

Well the girls are doing wonderful as ever! They have now hit 38 weeks, and on Thursday they will be 2 months old! This summer is just flying by watching these little girls grow, they have both double in size and weight already! 

Not too much to report on Ellie, she is just a perfect little angel, except for the many spit ups she has been so kindly to projectile. Even Pappy Sherwood got hit pretty hard this past weekend! But hey, she is doing really well at taking her whole bottle now. She is now up to 6 lbs and 2 oz.

Trenna actually had a pretty exciting week, she hit so many milestones so quickly! She just loves to keep surprising us. We were ecstatic when she hit the 3 lb mark and she is now up to 3 lbs and 3 oz. She now weighs more than Ellie did when she was born. Another big day for her, she took 10 ml from a bottle! They were able to take her feeding tube out of her mouth and place it through her nose just like Ellie's because it helps be more comfortable in trying to be bottle fed. Wait, there's more! They even took the top off of her incubator, she is holding her temperature hopefully she will soon be graduating to her crib, there has also been talks about putting them in the same crib so the can snuggle. One more, they are also hoping to take her off of the nasal cannula because she is doing well! We couldn't be more excited, especially since this past weekend all of us aunts and uncles got to finally hold Trenna for the first time! In the words of Peggy Hill "Ho Yeah!"

 Twincess Room

Exciting news for the girls, they were moved into their own private room, we call it the Twincess Room! Perfect to little miracle girls. They are both doing so wonderful. So nice for Shannon and Trevor to have a room alone with their girls to take care of them. They get to be side by side in their little beds. They just keep getting closer and closer together.

Ellie is just a growing and growing... She is now 5 pounds 11 ounces! She has been getting lots of baths and she is just LOVING them!

Trenna just keeps improving and growing just as fast as Ellie now... She is up to 2 pounds 13 ounces!!!  She looks AMAZING! Hoping to start this week with popping the top off of her incubator to see how she is holding her temperature. So awesome to think about. It won't be long before she is graduating to a crib. She is even being introduced to milk through a slow flow nipple, she is just moving on up!

 36 Weeks Adjusted

The girls are doing so well. They only get better and better everyday, their progress is amazing!

Great news for Trenna this week, they have taken off the CPAP mask and placed her on the high flow nasal cannula. She looks so much more comfortable and happy to not have that mask on. Also, they have turned the heat off in her incubator and placed her in a little onesie and swaddled her to see how she is holding her temperature. So far she has done pretty well! AND, within all of this excitement, Grammy Sherwood got to hold Trenna for the first time! Won't be long for the rest of us to hold her. 

As of today, Trenna is 2 pounds and 9 ounces! She is growing now! She is getting 22 mls and 30 calories, no wonder she is gaining some weight, woohoo! She is starting to get tastes of milk through her pacifier  so she cab start learning that she will be eating from a bottle.

Not too much to report on Ellie, she is just smooth sailing! She is now up to 5 pounds and 7 ounces. She is still getting 50 mls and 24 calories, they will be bumping up her calories soon and trying a new fortifier as she is showing a slower growth rate now. Nothing alarming but she is awesome!

Sweet Sherwood Sisters

35 Weeks Adjusted

Sweet Ellie Jelly Bean is doing wonderful, she just keeps putting on the weight and she is loving her bottle. She is eating 45ml feed and 26 calories. She is weighing in at 4 lbs 15.5 oz. So she is nearing that 5 lb mark!!!! So exciting! Over the past couple weeks all the family members got to hold her for the first time. It was such an incredible moment for all of us. We cannot wait to share that same moment with Trenna soon. 

Ellie also got her first bath time this past weekend!

Little Bit Trenna is doing so well. She is slowly but surely gaining weight. She is getting 20 ml of feed and taking in 28 calories. She is now weighing at 2 lbs 3.5 oz. She is bright eyed and shows her emotions well. She is doing much better and staying more calm during her assessments. 

She loves her paci. It's so sweet to see her holding her own paci in her mouth when it is so big! Precious girl!
